Tusk Hints That He Expects Zelensky To Attend Ukraine Recovery Conference In Gdansk

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Polish prime minister said this at a press conference in Warsaw, Ukrinform's correspondent reports.

According to Tusk, Zelensky is a co-organizer of the event.

Tusk said that he was not waiting for any confirmation and that they would of course welcome in Gdańsk those who come, including companies and business representatives, adding that it was in the interests of both Ukraine and Poland.

The prime minister added that it is important to him that the conference in Gdańsk be successful, since the talks will also concern Polish interests in the process of rebuilding Ukraine.

He added that he would see how things developed, but that so far he had received no signals that the Ukrainian side wanted to disregard the plans.

Regarding the fact that, amid the crisis in bilateral relations, Zelensky's last international trip was not via Rzeszów, as usual, but via Chișinău, Tusk made it clear that this is Ukraine's internal matter.

He further stated that President Zelensky used other options than Rzeszów and that he would not tell him from where or how he should fly, noting that Rzeszów had not been closed. He also reminded that Poland's assistance to Ukraine included not only the military component.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 27 Volodymyr Zelensky conferred the honorary name "named after the Heroes of the UPA" on the Separate Special Operations Center "North" of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Poland's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned this decision.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, visited Warsaw last weekend, where he held meetings at the Chancellery of the President and the Council of Ministers regarding tensions in bilateral relations in the context of difficult history.
