Yemen Declares Ban On Israeli-Linked Shipping In Red Sea

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) "> KABUL (Pajhwok): Yemen's armed forces have announced a complete ban on the passage of Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea, warning that any such vessels will be considered military targets.

Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Yahya Saree said on Monday that any Israeli-linked activity in the Red Sea would be treated as a military target and that Yemeni forces would respond forcefully to any escalation, according to Tasnim News Agency.

“We announce a complete ban on the enemy's navigation in the Red Sea and consider any Zionist movement a military target for our forces,” he said.

Saree added that the Yemeni armed forces would respond to any escalation with further escalation and intensify their operations in line with developments on the battlefield.

He said the operations would continue as long as the attacks and blockade persisted.

The announcement comes amid renewed tensions between Iran and Israel since Sunday.

According to reports, Iran has launched strikes on targets in Israel, while Israel has carried out attacks on sites inside Iran.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the launch of“Operation Nasr” against Israel, saying it targeted the strategic airbases of Nevatim and Tel Nof.
