Qatar Central Bank Closes Eidiya Atms, Withdrawals Exceed Qr160mn

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Central Bank (QCB) announced the closure of Eidiya ATM service.

It added that the total withdrawals went over QR161 million from all machines placed at 10 different locations.

QCB set up a total of 52 ATMs that allowed users to withdraw Qatari Riyal bills in denominations of QR5, QR10, QR50, QR100 and QR200.

This service was introduced as part of efforts to preserve the Qatari heritage and cultural practice of Eidi, the gifting of money to young children during Eid.
