ROME, May 19 (ANSA) -- An Uzbek fencer who was a minor at the time vowed to fight on for justice after two young Italian male fencers were cleared of raping her on Monday. The woman had reported the pair for an alleged gang rape committed during a fencing camp in Tuscany, but the court acquitted them because the fact was not substantiated against a request for a 5-year and 4-month sentence from the prosecutor's office. Fernanda Herrera, a Mexican-origin fencer for the Uzbekistan national team, promised that "it won't end like this.""I'll put my face and my name on it, I'll get to the bottom of it and do everything I can to get justice," she said in tears after the verdict of the Siena Court that acquitted the two Italian athletes. "There are many cases in sport and in the world where they want to silence women. This can't happen again."
