Kahramaa Honours Winners Of 'Irtiqa' Award During Its 2026 Annual Planning Forum

Doha, Qatar: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has organised the 2026 Annual Planning Forum under the theme“Continuity, Resilience, and Future Foresight,” to strengthen institutional integration and enhance the efficiency of strategic planning for the coming phase.

Kahramaa President H E Eng Abdulla bin Ali Al Theyab, along with directors of sectors and departments attended the forum.

The forum serves as a high-level institutional platform for reviewing Kahramaa's future directions and presenting its operational and strategic plans, as well as the budgets for the coming years, in a way that enhances integration among its various sectors and supports sustainable development efforts in Qatar. It also provided an opportunity to discuss work priorities for the next stage in line with future developments, community aspirations, and the principles of quality and institutional excellence.

The forum sessions included presentations of the plans of the Electricity Networks Affairs Sector and the Water Networks Affairs Sector, in addition to discussions on the plans of the Technical Affairs Sector and the Shared Services Affairs Sector, as well as the plans of supporting corporate departments. These discussions contributed to strengthening role integration and improving the quality and effectiveness of strategic planning.

The forum also supported coordination among various organisational units and reviewed the corporation's strategic directions to ensure the optimal use of resources and achieve the highest levels of efficiency and sustainability in service delivery.The forum was also marked by active participation and a rich exchange of ideas and initiatives, reflecting Kahramaa's commitment to fostering a culture of innovation and strengthening its institutional leadership. This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to support the strategic planning system and reinforce a culture of excellence, further enhancing its leading position in the electricity and water sectors.

At the conclusion of the forum, the corporation honoured the winners of Kahramaa's Institutional Excellence Award,“Irtiqaa,” which is the first award of its kind among government entities in the country. The initiative reflects Kahramaa's commitment to promoting a culture of excellence and institutional motivation, while recognising national talents and outstanding achievements.

The awards included categories for distinguished employees in supervisory, technical, technological, specialised, administrative, and customer service fields, in addition to the“Unsung Hero” category for workers. Awards were also presented to outstanding departments across the electricity, water, technical affairs, shared services, and supporting administration sectors.

In this context, President of Kahramaa, emphasised that the forum represents an important milestone in Kahramaa's journey toward strengthening a strategic planning approach based on institutional integration. He noted that honouring the winners of the“Irtiqaa” Institutional Excellence Award embodies the corporation's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence and motivating employees and departments to continue delivering and improving performance, in support of achieving the corporation's goals and enhancing its institutional efficiency.
