Hussein Crowned Jordan Cup Champions After Dominant Final Win

(MENAFN) Al-Hussein SC secured their first-ever Jordan Cup title with a commanding 3–0 victory over Al-Ramtha SC in the final held on Saturday at Amman International Stadium, marking a historic milestone for the club.

Ramtha had reached the final after eliminating Faisali in the semi-finals, while Hussein advanced by defeating Wihdat, setting up a closely anticipated showdown between two in-form sides.

The match started cautiously, with both teams struggling to establish rhythm in the early stages as most of the play remained concentrated in midfield. Clear chances were limited in the opening half-hour, though Ramtha came close in the 27th minute when Momen Saket broke through on a solo run, only to be denied by a sharp save from Hussein goalkeeper Yazeed Abu Laila.

Hussein later threatened in the 37th minute through a long-range attempt by Mohammed Abu Ghoush, but Ramtha’s goalkeeper Malek Shalabya was alert enough to divert it for a corner, leaving the match level at halftime.

After the restart, Hussein raised their tempo and gradually took control of proceedings. Their breakthrough arrived in the 65th minute when Reziq Bani Hani finished a well-constructed attacking move from close range, putting Hussein ahead.

Momentum shifted decisively just minutes later as Yousef Abu Jalboush doubled the lead in the 69th minute, once again capitalizing on organized attacking play that exposed Ramtha’s defensive line.

Ramtha found it difficult to recover after the second goal, and Hussein sealed the result in the 75th minute when substitute Obeida Namarneh added the third, confirming a one-sided conclusion to the final.

With the result beyond doubt, Hussein managed the closing stages comfortably, controlling possession and running down the clock to secure a landmark triumph in the club’s history.

The victory capped an outstanding season for Hussein, who also claimed the Jordan Pro League title for a third consecutive year, further reinforcing their domestic dominance.

The final was attended by Jordan national team head coach Jamal Sellami, who was among the spectators observing the match.
