Belgium’s Defense Minister Pays Visit to Turkish Aerospace Industries


(MENAFN) Belgium’s Minister of Defense and Foreign Trade Theo Francken has visited Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) as part of a broader Belgian economic mission to Türkiye, according to company statements.

TAI CEO Mehmet Demiroglu said on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal that the company was “delighted” to host Francken during the visit.

According to reports, discussions during the meeting focused on defense industry cooperation, aviation technologies, and broader international collaboration.

Demiroglu said: “During the visit, we held productive discussions on ongoing efforts in the defense industry, aviation technologies, and international cooperation,” adding that both sides explored potential future joint opportunities by sharing engineering expertise and advanced technological capabilities.

The visit is part of a Belgian economic delegation to Türkiye taking place from May 10 to 14, led by Queen Mathilde. The delegation also includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Maxime Prévot alongside Francken, according to reports.
