Amman, May 13 (Petra) -- The Royal Hashemite Documentation Center (RHDC) has reissued a special archival bulletin featuring the 1946 edition of Al-Urdun newspaper that documented Jordan's declaration of independence and royal coronation, marking the kingdom's 80th Independence Day anniversary.

According to a statement issued Wednesday, the publication reproduces Issue No. 1127 of Al-Urdun newspaper from 1946, which covered key historical moments surrounding Jordan's independence and the crowning of King Abdullah I.

The archival edition includes reports documenting the historic declaration establishing Jordan as a fully independent state alongside the pledge of allegiance to King Abdullah bin Al Hussein, in addition to coverage of nationwide celebrations and the arrival of Arab delegations participating in the occasion.

The RHDC said the issue also featured speeches, official ceremonies, banquets and media coverage by regional newspaper representatives during the independence celebrations.

Officials said the republication forms part of the center's ongoing efforts to preserve Jordan's national memory and document historical milestones that shaped the country's political and national development.
