Cairo, May 12 (Petra) – The Arab Parliament and Egypt on Tuesday condemned an infiltration attempt involving agents reportedly linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Kuwait's Bubiyan Island, which resulted in the injury of a member of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces.

Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Al Yamahi described the incident as a "criminal act" that violates Kuwait's sovereignty, international law and the UN Charter.

Al Yamahi held Iran fully responsible for the repercussions of what he called a dangerous escalation affecting regional security and stability.

In a separate statement, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the incident and expressed full solidarity with Kuwait, affirming support for the measures taken by Kuwaiti authorities to safeguard the country's security, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
