PM Modi Launches Rs 9,400 Crore Infrastructure, Rail & Industrial Projects In Telangana


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, May 11 (KNN) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated development projects worth around Rs 9,400 crore in Telangana, covering industrial infrastructure, highways, rail connectivity, textiles and energy facilities.

Among the key projects announced was the development of the Zaheerabad Industrial Smart City, aimed at strengthening manufacturing activity and attracting investment with integrated infrastructure, power supply and digital connectivity facilities.

The project is part of the Centre's industrial corridor expansion programme and is expected to support sectors such as engineering, machinery and food processing.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the PM MITRA textile park in Warangal, which is intended to promote textile manufacturing and generate employment opportunities. Units operating in the park will be eligible for benefits under central schemes, including the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) programme.

In the transport sector, Modi referred to the widening of the Telangana-Karnataka National Highway corridor, stating that the project is expected to improve connectivity, reduce travel time and lower transportation costs. He also noted that railway projects worth nearly Rs 50,000 crore are under implementation in Telangana.

The Prime Minister inaugurated sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada Multi-Tracking Railway Project and dedicated the Kazipet Rail Under Bypass Line, which are expected to improve rail operations, passenger movement and freight transportation in the region.

In the energy sector, Modi inaugurated Indian Oil's terminal at Malkapur, aimed at strengthening fuel storage and supply infrastructure to meet rising regional energy demand.
During the event, the Prime Minister also referred to the Centre's

investments in highways, railways, renewable energy and cleaner fuel initiatives, including solar power expansion, ethanol blending and CNG infrastructure development.

He said the projects would contribute to employment generation, industrial growth and infrastructure expansion in Telangana.
