Kabul Women Launch Online Bus Ticket Delivery Platform

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): Four young Afghan women in Kabul have launched an online bus ticket delivery platform, saying they are carrying out their work with ease while observing Islamic hijab.

The women are part of a startup called“Qasid,” which they describe as a logistics and delivery platform established a year ago by four women and four men. Through the app, bus tickets are booked online and delivered directly to female customers' homes.

Tamina Mohammadi, a member of the Qasid team, told Pajhwok Afghan News that she is responsible for delivering tickets to customers. Wearing a black hijab, she prepares her motorcycle before heading to deliver tickets to female clients in the Dasht-i-Barchi area of Kabul.

She said she delivers three to four tickets daily in nearby areas such as Kot-I Sangi, Pul-I- Hawaei, and Pul-I-Sorkh, all to female customers. Deliveries to male customers, she added, are handled by male staff.

Mohammadi said she performs her job comfortably while observing Islamic hijab and has received positive public reactions.“Many people appreciate my work and encourage me,” she said.

“We hope that in the future all ticket sales processes will be digitised,” she added.

Meanwhile, Sadaf Afghan, head of the women's section in the platform, said Qasid is an online system comprising a website and mobile application for booking bus tickets, launched a year ago.

She said the platform aims to simplify travel and promote digitalisation in the country so people no longer need to visit terminals, saving time and reducing transport costs.

She added that the team currently consists of eight members-four women and four men-working in separate environments.

Afghan also said the women working in the platform observe Islamic hijab while performing their duties.

She noted that the team plans to expand services across all provinces and create more job opportunities for women in the future.
