The statement said the Chinese envoy emphasized the continuation and effectiveness of the Urumqi dialogue process between Afghanistan and Pakistan, describing it as an important framework for regional stability and coordination.

He added that the next phase of the process should focus on achieving practical and result-oriented outcomes.

Yue Xiaoyong also stressed the importance of serious engagement, confidence-building, and mutual understanding to advance the talks.

The previous round of Afghanistan-Pakistan talks was held about a month ago in Urumqi, China.

China's Foreign Ministry had earlier stated that both countries had reached an understanding on finding a comprehensive solution to ease tensions.

According to the MoFA, Muttaqi said during the meeting that regional stability, balanced relations, economic cooperation, and mutual respect are the key pillars of Afghanistan's foreign policy.

He emphasized that the success of the dialogue process depends on concrete measures, strengthening trust, and maintaining low levels of tension, adding that the Islamic Emirate has taken significant steps in these areas.

The statement added that both sides stressed the need for the next round of the Urumqi talks to proceed on the basis of a clear, practical, and result-oriented agenda to further strengthen lasting regional stability and cooperation.
