Ukraine Offers Air Defense Expertise to Finland—FM

(MENAFN) Ukraine says it is ready to assist Finland in strengthening its airspace protection by sending a group of experts to share operational experience, according to reports and Ukrainian officials.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Monday that Kyiv is prepared to contribute expertise aimed at helping safeguard Finnish skies.

Sybiha said his visit to Brussels began with a meeting with Finland’s foreign minister Elina Valtonen, where they discussed several regional and international issues.

According to a post shared on X, the talks covered the Russia–Ukraine peace process, Europe’s role in supporting it, and the situation on the battlefield. He also noted discussions on Ukraine’s path toward EU membership.

“We also spoke about Ukraine’s EU accession — I underscored the need to open negotiation clusters as soon as possible,” he said, adding that the meeting also included exchanges on developments in Central Asia, the South Caucasus, and the Middle East.

Sybiha is expected to take part in an EU foreign ministers’ meeting during his Brussels visit, as well as hold talks with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.

He is also scheduled to attend a ministerial session of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children, alongside bilateral meetings with European partners and the signing of several agreements, according to reports.
