Israeli Strikes Kill Three, Injure Six in S. Lebanon Despite Ceasefire

(MENAFN) Three people are killed and six others are wounded on Monday in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon, even though a ceasefire is still in effect, according to reports.

According to reports, two individuals are killed and five others are injured in an air raid targeting the town of Ebba in the Nabatieh region.

In a separate attack, a drone strike hits a vehicle in the town of Haris in the Bint Jbeil district, killing one person and injuring his brother, according to reports.

Additional strikes also target the residence of a former municipal head in Sajd, while another attack is reported in Kfar Rumman. No immediate casualty details are available from those two locations.

Israeli forces continue carrying out near-daily strikes in Lebanon and exchanging fire with Hezbollah, despite a ceasefire that has been in place since April 17 and later extended into mid-May.

Since March 2, Israeli attacks in Lebanon have killed 2,846 people, injured 8,693, and displaced more than one million, according to official figures cited in reports.

The escalation comes as the United States prepares to host peace talks between the two sides in Washington on May 14–15.
