Russian Saboteur Sentenced To 15 Years For Arson Attack On Ukrzaliznytsia Equipment In Dnipro

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported the case.

The SBU detained the suspect in May 2025. He turned out to be an unemployed local resident.

Investigators established that Russian intelleigence services recruited the man while he was searching for“easy money” through specialized Telegram channels.

According to the investigation, the suspect received from his handler a list of potential targets that he was instructed to scout and later destroy by fire.

The man set fire to an Ukrzaliznytsia relay cabinet, recorded the act on video, and reported the completed“mission” to a Russian intelligence operative. He was then expected to continue carrying out a series of arson attacks against critical infrastructure facilities in Dnipro, but the SBU apprehended him shortly afterward.

During searches, law enforcement officers seized the suspect's smartphone containing evidence of cooperation with the enemy.

Based on SBU materials, the court found the defendant guilty under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – sabotage committed under martial law.
