UAE Company Acquires Brazilian Clinics

(MENAFN- Brazil-Arab News Agency (ANBA)) São Paulo – Diaverum, the nephrology business unit of M42, a United Arab Emirates-based company, announced this Thursday (23) the acquisition of four clinics belonging to the Lund Group in cities across the state of São Paulo. The units acquired, for undisclosed amounts, are CDTR and CDTR Prime in Sorocaba, INDI in Itapetininga, and Lund Nefrologia in Itu.

According to M42, with this acquisition Diaverum now operates 18 clinics in Brazil, three of them dedicated to cardiovascular treatment. The UAE group recently also acquired the Serviço de Nefrologia de Ribeirão Preto (Senerp), another city in the state of São Paulo. In a statement, M42 said Diaverum's ecosystem combines owned clinics, partnerships with public hospitals, and emergency service contracts, expected to result in 220,000 treatments per year in a business model that could also be adopted in the Middle East.

According to data presented by M42, chronic kidney diseases affect more than 10 million Brazilians. In São Paulo, the country's most populous state with 44.4 million inhabitants, between 6% and 9% of the population is affected by kidney conditions, with 2.3% requiring dialysis treatment.

Diaverum's CEO and COO for Europe and Latin America, Rafael Romanini, said Brazil is a strategic market for the company“not only for its scale and growth potential but also for the opportunity to continue improving the standard of care for patients who rely on dialysis daily.”

For M42, the company's business expansion enables clinical learnings from high-volume markets such as Brazil to strengthen its capabilities in innovation, research, and healthcare delivery. M42 CEO Dimitris Moulavasilis said the group's expansion broadens Brazilians' access to kidney treatments supported by clinical data and predictive analytics for earlier interventions and better long-term outcomes.

M42 is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It was created in 2023 through the merger of the healthcare company G42 and Mubadala Health. It operates in 27 countries, with more than 480 healthcare service units under brands such as Diaverum, Danat, and Al Emarat.
