EV & Mobility Global Webinar Series UAE Reaffirmed As The World's EV Supply Chain Fortress Industry Leaders Unite To Chart The Future Of Electric Mobility Across The GCC, Africa & Beyond

(MENAFN- Mid-East Info) Dubai, UAE, April 22, 2026. The EV & Mobility Global Webinar Series, organised by MIE Group in partnership with Expo Centre Sharjah, convened an influential panel of global industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators for a high-impact session titled The Trade Bypass: How the UAE Guarantees Your EV Supply Chain Never Stops. The webinar reinforced the UAE's standing as the world's premier hub for EV logistics, supply chain resilience, and mobility innovation, drawing participants from across the GCC, Africa, Asia, and Europe.

OPENING REMARKS

Zahoor Ahmed | Vice President, Strategy & Partnerships, MIE Group
Zahoor opened the session by highlighting the UAE's leadership in EV and mobility strategy, noting the country's resilience amid global challenges. He emphasised the strength of the MIE Group and Expo Centre Sharjah partnership, the second-year success of the EVOLVE platform, and the UAE's role as the leading ecosystem for EV brands, infrastructure, and solutions across the GCC and MENA region.

Khalid Abdulla Showaiter | Expo Centre Sharjah
Khalid underscored the UAE's logistics excellence, noting its connectivity to over 400 cities worldwide and more than 12 free zones. He highlighted the EVOLVE Future Mobility Show's landmark 2025 launch edition, which welcomed over 6,000 visitors, 50 global brands, and facilitated 650 B2B meetings, including live test drives, demonstrating strong industry demand for dedicated mobility platforms.

DUBAI'S EV POLICY & STRATEGIC ROADMAP

Mr. Faisal Rashid | Senior Director – Demand Side Management Supreme Council of Energy
Mr. Faisal outlined Dubai's Clean Energy Strategy 2050, positioning EVs as a mobile energy resource integrated into the city's broader power grid. He highlighted smart charging aligned with peak solar production, government fleet mandates, and mandatory EV-ready parking in building codes. He identified the two most critical levers for EV adoption: policy and strategy alignment at the Emirates level, including mandatory building codes and low-emission zones, and widespread public education on the long-term economic benefits of EV ownership.

LAST MILE ELECTRIC DELIVERY

Adam Ridgway | CEO, One Moto
Adam shared One Moto's journey from inception in 2016 to operating across 13 countries, specialising in electric last-mile delivery motorcycles. He challenged the conventional battery-swapping model, arguing it is commercially unviable and economically flawed at scale, citing the example that servicing 7,000 Joos riders daily in one zone alone would require nearly 700 swapping stations at a cost of approximately USD 10 million. Instead, Adam advocates for data-driven route optimisation via One Moto's proprietary app, enabling riders to maximise deliveries per charge and eliminate the need for large-scale charging infrastructure.

MULTI-MODAL LOGISTICS & CARGO SWITCHING

Firas Shnoudeh | Vice President Global Sales & MNC, Aramex
Firas spotlighted the UAE's strategic geographic position at the intersection of Asia, Europe, and Africa, with both a West Coast (Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port) and East Coast (Fujairah, Gulf of Oman) offering uninterrupted trade flows. He described three seamless cargo switching modes, sea to land, air to land, and rail and praised the UAE Customs bonded system and importer code process as among the world's most efficient and resilient logistics frameworks.

Anas Al Arid | Regional Manager, Rhenus Logistics Gulf DWC LLC
Anas introduced Rhenus Logistics, a family-owned organisation with over 100 years of expertise, and its new global partnership to expand logistics services across the region. He highlighted a pioneering sea-air model: shipping EV cargo from global markets to Dubai by sea, then connecting directly to flights bound for Europe and the US, dramatically reducing transit times. He also noted active involvement in the government-led green corridor initiative linking Fujairah to Jebel Ali and Khalifa Port amid recent regional trade disruptions.

Muhammad Unais | Commercial Leader – MEA & South America (eMobility and BESS), Schneider Electric
Muhammad presented Schneider Electric's three-pillar strategy for electrifying the land bridge corridor: digitise, decarbonise, and electrify. He outlined two flagship offerings: high-power DC fast charging infrastructure built from stainless steel for harsh environments and maritime salinity conditions, and scalable Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for peak shaving, demand charge reduction, and business continuity. He referenced Schneider's partnership with DHL Supply Chain in Thailand as a successful proof of concept.

INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES

Franklin Amese | CEO, Digital Alor
Franklin highlighted a critical and often overlooked barrier to EV adoption in emerging markets: spare parts availability. In West Africa, a failed inverter can mean a 45-day wait for parts from China. He positioned the UAE as the ideal regional hub to drastically cut delivery times to African markets.

Lei Gong | Middle East Regional Manager, Xiamen C&D Automotive Co., Ltd.
Lei Gong introduced comprehensive supply chain services for Chinese automotive brands expanding globally, including supply chain finance, cross-border logistics, and warehousing.

Len Weng | Director of Overseas Marketing, Eraergy
Len Weng unveiled a mobile robotic energy tank solution designed to support flexible EV charging in logistics environments.

Dr. Jianheng Luo | Founder & President, Dynaso Technical Consulting LLC
Dr. Luo delivered a strategic analysis of the evolving global automotive regulatory landscape, emphasising that market access is now system-driven rather than product-driven.

Engineer Asim | General Manager, Policy, Engineering Development Board, Government of Pakistan
Engineer Asim provided an overview of Pakistan's rapidly growing EV market, highlighting the presence of 72 two- and three-wheeler EV manufacturers, two car manufacturers, and an increasing number of Chinese brands entering the market, including BYD, Zeekr, Changan, and GWM. He also highlighted Pakistan's New Energy Vehicle Policy and the upcoming Automotive Development Policy 2026–2031, noting the country's alignment with WP.29 global safety regulations and its strong trade links with Dubai as a key corridor for automotive parts.
