4.2M Afghans Need Emergency Shelter, Non-Food Aid In 2026: UN


(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Afghanistan said on Monday that around 4.2 million Afghans will require emergency shelter and non-food assistance in 2026.

In a post on X, UN-Habitat stated:“In Afghanistan, 4.2 million people need emergency shelter and non-food items in 2026, highlighting the urgent need for housing support.”

It added:“At #WUF13 in Baku, the world is discussing housing-but for Afghan families, the need is immediate. We must act now to ensure adequate housing for all.”
