Russia, Ukraine Trade Overnight Strikes, Leaving Casualties on Both Sides
(MENAFN) According to reports, Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of carrying out overnight drone strikes that resulted in one death and multiple injuries.
As stated by reports, Tuapse in Russia’s Krasnodar region came under what local officials described as a large-scale drone attack. Regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev said via Telegram that one person was killed and another injured, and that a fire broke out at the seaport.
Reports indicate that drone debris also caused damage across several civilian sites, including a school, kindergarten, museum, church, apartment building, and a gas pipeline. Additional videos circulating on Telegram channels reportedly showed a large fire near an oil facility in Tuapse, though these claims could not be independently verified.
According to reports, Russia’s Defense Ministry said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 112 drones overnight over multiple regions, including Astrakhan Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, Voronezh Oblast, Kaluga Oblast, Kursk Oblast, as well as annexed Crimea and parts of the Azov and Black Sea areas.
As stated by reports, Ukraine’s General Staff said Russia launched 142 drones overnight, of which 113 were intercepted. Ukrainian officials reported injuries in multiple regions, including one person in the Kyiv Oblast and two others in Kharkiv Oblast, according to regional authorities.
Both sides’ claims could not be independently verified due to the ongoing war.
