Kim Jong Un Supervises Test Launch of Upgraded Tactical Ballistic Missile

(MENAFN) As stated by reports, Kim Jong Un, who serves as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and heads state affairs in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, personally observed a live-fire exercise involving an upgraded surface-to-surface tactical ballistic missile known as Hwasongpho-11 Ra on Sunday.

According to reports, the launch was conducted to assess the performance and effectiveness of both cluster bomb and fragmentation mine warheads integrated into the missile system.

Reports indicated that five missiles were fired toward a designated zone near an island roughly 136 kilometers away. The projectiles reportedly impacted a target area spanning approximately 12.5 to 13 hectares, demonstrating a concentrated strike pattern and highlighting their destructive capability.

As stated by reports, the DPRK leader voiced approval of the outcomes, noting that expanding the range of cluster bomb warheads would better align with the operational needs of the country’s military forces and enhance their overall effectiveness.
