Cinnamon Bentota Beach Showcases Jaffna Culture Through Signature Event

The evening offered guests an immersive cultural experience, highlighting the traditions, flavours and community spirit of Jaffna.

Guests were welcomed with traditional greetings, followed by religious rituals that set a meaningful cultural tone for the event. A key highlight of the evening was the launch of the“Jaffna Culinary Journey” video series, documenting the resort team's immersive exploration of Jaffna's food culture and daily life.

The journey captured experiences such as preparing local dishes with villagers, visiting traditional homes, participating in early morning poojas, and exploring local fish and vegetable markets. These interactions reflected how deeply Jaffna's cuisine is connected to its identity, history and community traditions.

The resort highlighted that such experiences help preserve and honour cultural heritage while offering guests authentic storytelling through food. The evening also marked the official launch of the Jaffna Food Festival at the resort, extending the culinary journey and bringing authentic northern flavours and stories to Bentota.
