Prime Minister Receives Telephone Call From Spanish Foreign Minister

Doha, Qatar: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, received a telephone call from HE Jose Manuel Alvarez, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of the Kingdom of Spain.

During the call, the latest developments in the region were reviewed in light of the ceasefire declaration between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to a number of topics of common interest.

His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's welcome of the ceasefire declaration and stressed the need to build upon it urgently to prevent the spread of tension in the region.

His Excellency stressed the importance of ensuring the security of maritime routes and the freedom of navigation and international trade in accordance with the rules of international law, which contributes to maintaining the stability of the region and global supply chains.
