Economic Security Bureau Of Ukraine Foils Procurement Abuses At Defense Enterprise

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Economic Security Bureau's press service reported this.

“The investigation established that the former director of the department responsible for logistics and procurement used his official position to enter into a contract with a foreign company for the supply of capacitors at prices significantly exceeding their actual value,” the statement said.

The contract was concluded without proper economic justification, and the procurement terms did not comply with the principles of effective and rational use of state funds.

As a result, the state-owned enterprise suffered financial losses amounting to over 5 million hryvnias.

The former official has been notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position resulting in serious consequences). The indictment has been sent to court.

As previously reported, the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau in the Poltava region has completed a pre-trial investigation into the embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the purchase of quadcopters for the Ukrainian Armed Forces; the indictment has been sent to court.
