Education Ministry Implements Extended Weekend Holiday Starting Wednesday

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) announced, in light of the current regional developments and in coordination with the relevant authorities in the State, the implementation of an extended weekend holiday, effective today, 8 April 2026, across all levels, government schools, educational institutions, and nurseries until the end of the current week.

This holiday will be observed instead of the previously scheduled dates of 22 and 23 April, as part of a precautionary approach aimed at safeguarding the safety of students and members of the educational community.

The Ministry expressed its appreciation for the cooperation of parents and students, and commends the efforts and dedication of administrative and academic staff in fulfilling their educational mission.

It reaffirmed its commitment to monitoring developments in coordination with the relevant authorities and to keeping the educational field informed of any updates through official channels.
