Morocco Sees Sharp Fuel Price Surge
(MENAFN) Fuel costs in Morocco climbed by roughly 13% on Wednesday, as disruptions in supply chains tied to the ongoing conflict drove prices upward.
The price of diesel rose from 12.79 dirhams ($1.37) to 14.50 dirhams ($1.55), while gasoline increased from 13.92 dirhams ($1.49) to 15.60 dirhams ($1.67). This adjustment represents the second increase in fuel prices since the outbreak of the war in Iran.
International markets have experienced intensified instability as a result of the US-Israeli conflict with Iran, with escalating oil prices contributing to growing concerns over inflation.
Since Feb. 28, countries in the Gulf region have been subjected to retaliatory strikes by Iran, which have caused damage to key infrastructure, including airports, seaports, and energy installations.
