Weather Today: More Rains Predicted Till 5 April Due To 'Active Western Disturbance' - See Full IMD Forecast
Suggesting that the prevailing weather conditions will cause light to moderate precipitation over northwest India till 5 April with peak activity in the next two days, the weather department said,“Fresh wet spell with Scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) likely over Jammu Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Himachal Pradesh on 03rd & 04th & 07th April; Uttarakhand during 03rd -05th April.” The weather office forecasted isolated heavy rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir on 3 April.

The weather agency forecasted“isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds” in the following regions:
- Punjab, Haryana and Delhi over the coming two days West Uttar Pradesh between 3 and 5 April; East Uttar Pradesh on 4 and 5 April East Rajasthan over the next two days and then again on 6 and 7 April.
- West Rajasthan till 4 April and then again on 6 and 7 April. West Bengal and Sikkim on 5 April Bihar on 5 and 6 April Jharkhand on 4 and 5 April Odisha till 5 April Central India till 6 April. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka during next 4 days Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over next 3 days Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada and Gujarat during till 4 April with lightning over coastal Maharashtra on 2nd April.
Meanwhile, northeastern states are set to witness“widespread light to moderate rainfall” accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds till 5 April. It predicted downpour in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on 2 April with lightning in Arunachal Pradesh on 4 and 5th April.

The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are likely to be in the range of 35°C to 37°C and 18°C to 20°C, respectively, IMD said. A yellow alert for heavy rains is in place for 4 April. The average precipitation in Delhi on Wednesday was 5.2 mm.
