Pentagon Seeks Over $200B To Fund War With Iran WP
It remains unclear how much the White House will ultimately ask congressional lawmakers to approve.
Some White House officials do not think the Pentagon's request has a realistic shot of being approved in Congress, the senior administration official said.
The report notes that the Pentagon has floated several different proposed funding requests over the past two weeks.
According to multiple officials, the cost of the war in Iran has rapidly grown, exceeding $11 billion in the first week alone.

Even before the war in Iran, Trump had called for a $1.5 trillion defense budget, a more than 50 percent increase from the previous year.
As previously reported, the first 100 hours of the U.S. military operation against Iran cost approximately $3.7 billion, or about $891 million per day.
