Ukraine's Air Defenses Down 90 Out Of 97 Drones Launched By Russia Overnight
Starting at 18:00 on Saturday, March 14, Russian forces launched 97 attack drones, including Shahed drones, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types of UAVs from the directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo (in Russia), as well as Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea. Around 70 of the drones were Shahed-type.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00 on Sunday, March 15, air defenses had shot down or suppressed 90 drones.
Hits by five attack UAVs were recorded at five locations, while debris from downed drones fell at two other sites.
The attack is still ongoing, with several enemy drones remaining in Ukrainian airspace.
