The Amón Cultural festival will turn the historic Barrio Amón into a major cultural hub on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

The event will bring together art, music, dance, theater, history, cuisine, and urban tours to reconnect residents with one of the capital's most iconic neighborhoods.

Throughout the day, streets, parks, historic buildings, and cultural spaces in Barrio Amón and Otoya will open their doors with activities for people of all ages.

The program includes art and photography exhibition, musical performances, theater, dance, participatory workshops, family activities, and guided tours of historical landmarks.

There will also be food festivals, film screenings, and urban art projects aimed at revitalizing the neighborhood as a cultural hub.

More than 70 institutions, cultural organizations, businesses, and artistic collectives will participate in this year's festival.

One of the highlights will be the 19th Intersedes Dance Festival of the Technological Institute of Costa Rica, scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on the TEC stage.

The show will bring together the groups Andanza, Danzamón, Danzartec, and Danzatec, with special appearances by the National Dance Company, the Danza UNA Chamber Dance Company, and artist Paz Alfaro.

The 2026 edition is dedicated to chef Santiago Fernández Benedetto, in recognition of his contribution to the country's gastronomic culture and cultural life.

The event is organized by the Amón Cultural Center in collaboration with the San José Culture and Sports Unit and the TEC School of Culture and Sports.
