FM Sybiha, Estonian Counterpart Discuss Pressure On Russia, Global Focus On Ukraine

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, Sybiha wrote about the conversation on the social media platform X.

During the discussion, the heads of the Ukrainian and Estonian foreign ministries agreed that now is the time for unity and strength in every EU decision.

“Maintaining and increasing pressure on Russia remains essential. Sanctions remain critical to limit Moscow's ability to finance war and destabilise Europe and other regions,” Sybiha emphasized.

Sybiha and Tsahkna also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, as well as on the importance of maintaining global focus on countering Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“We discussed progress on the path to an EU-wide travel ban for Russian combatants who participated in the war against Ukraine,” Sybiha added.

The Ukrainian minister also informed Tsahkna about what he described as theft of Ukrainian state bank's and taxpayers' money.

“Such actions require strong, Europe-wide condemnation and the immediate return of the seized funds,” Sybiha stressed.

The ministers also discussed the €90 billion loan, which Sybiha said“is critical to maintaining Ukraine and Europe's security.”

“Hungary should not be allowed to hold the entire EU hostage on matters of strategic security,” the Ukrainian foreign minister said.

As previously reported, the Hungarian government adopted a special resolution regarding cash and gold seized from armored vehicles belonging to Oschadbank, a Ukrainian state bank. The assets will remain under the control of Hungarian authorities during the investigation.
