    The UAE Cyber Security Council has urged individuals and organisations to remain alert to the threat of wiper malware.

    The Council warns that it is among the 'most destructive types of malicious software ' designed to erase data and deliberately disrupt systems.

    It also outlined a set of recommendations to support both individuals and organisations in protecting their systems and data.

    For individuals, the council advised regularly updating systems and software, avoiding suspicious links and untrusted files, and maintaining regular backups of important data.

    For organisations, it recommended implementing isolated backups and testing them regularly, restricting and managing access privileges, and strengthening security monitoring and incident response capabilities.

    The council added that awareness and preparedness are essential to protecting data, ensuring the resilience of digital services, and reducing potential threats.
