At Castle Square in the center of the Polish capital, a symbolic installation was displayed: a stopped clock, military boots, and photographs of people considered missing.

"When your father disappears, you wake up every day with hope and go to bed in fear. The hardest part is the uncertainty. But silence is even worse, because silence erases people from memory," said Myroslava, the daughter of a missing serviceman, during the event.

Meanwhile, Kateryna, the sister of a prisoner of war, said her family is waiting for news about their loved one.

"We know my brother is in captivity. But we do not know under what conditions he is held or whether he has access to basic necessities. We come here so the world demands his return. Every prisoner has the right to life and protection," she emphasized.

Participants called on Russia to immediately release a full list of all military prisoners and civilian hostages and provide families with information on their status and location; on the International Committee of the Red Cross to ensure unhindered access to all detention sites and identify every prisoner; and on international organizations to recognize these actions by Russia as systematic war crimes and pursue personal accountability of the Russian leadership, as impunity leads to new crimes and deaths.

The event was not only a gesture of solidarity but also a clear signal: the issue of prisoners of war and missing persons must remain a focus for the international community, and their release and clarification of their fate is a matter of humanity, human rights, and accountability.

The event was organized by the civic initiative Euromaidan-Warsaw.

As Ukrinform previously reported, on Friday the lower house of the Polish Parliament adopted a resolution expressing solidarity with Ukraine on the fourth anniversary of the start of Russia's full-scale aggression.
