Trump Declares Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei Dead
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump announced Saturday that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei is "dead," following coordinated American and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.
Posting on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Khamenei, one of the most evil people in History, is dead,"
His statement came shortly after Washington and Tel Aviv carried out military operations against Iran.
In a separate message, Trump said: "This is not only Justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans, and those people from many Countries throughout the World, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty thugs,"
He did not disclose how he obtained the information.
Meanwhile, Iran rejected the assertion. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that both Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian remain unharmed, dismissing reports that they had been struck in the recent attacks.
Trump further claimed: "He was unable to avoid our Intelligence and Highly Sophisticated Tracking Systems and, working closely with Israel, there was not a thing he, or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do,"
He added that this moment represents "the single greatest chance" for Iranians to reclaim control of their nation.
The president also indicated that US military actions — including what he described as “heavy and pinpoint bombing,” — would persist “as long as necessary” to fulfill broader regional security goals.
