Emirates Suspends Dubai Operations Temporarily Amid Regional Airspace Closures

UAE flag carrier Emirates temporarily suspended operations to and from Dubai, up until 3pm on March 1, amid multiple regional airspace closures. The airline said it was "monitoring the situation and engaging with relevant authorities."

Emirates urged passengers to check the website for latest updates, and said it is assisting customers with rebooking, refunds, or alternative travel arrangements.

UAE-based Air Arabia also said it was temporarily suspending flights to and from UAE as tensions escalate in the region. Flight operations at DXB and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC) have been suspended until further notice.

On Saturday morning, Israel launched attacks against Iran "in coordination with US", according to an Israeli defence official. Iran later launched missiles against several countries in the region.

The UAE earlier said it intercepted two waves of missile launches originating from Iran. They also expressed condolences to the family of a Pakistani national who died as a result of the attacks.

UAE expressed its strong condemnation of the blatant Iranian missile attacks that targeted UAE and a number of regional countries. The UAE said it considers these actions a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a clear breach of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

The country's authorities reassured residents and visitors that their safety remains a top priority, and that the internal situation is "stable and under control."
