3Kg Gold, 10 Months Of Work: How Rashmika, Vijay's Multi-Million Wedding Jewellery Was Made
At the heart of their 'ViRosh' celebration (Vijay and Rashmika's ship name) was an extraordinary collection of fully custom South Indian temple jewellery crafted by Hyderabad's SHREE Jewellers. The pieces reportedly took close to 10 months to conceptualise and execute, moving from detailed sketches to multiple trials, and were sculpted using several kilos of gold.

In a time when bridal styling often leans towards diamonds, global silhouettes and trend-led jewels, the couple chose something way more rooted. Rashmika was envisioned as a 'living Goddess', Vijay, as a 'sovereign King'. Most importantly, their jewellery wasn't simply an add-on to this narrative, it was the centerpiece of the storytelling.
Rashmika Mandanna: The divine brideRashmika's bridal look was layered in 11 key gold pieces, each one deeply anchored in temple tradition and designed to complement her orangish-red Anamika Khanna saree.
Her neck stack formed the visual epicentre. A sculpted Lakshmi choker sat close to the collarbone, featuring Nakshi carving. From there, the layers began to build, with kasu malas etched with tiny Lakshmi coins symbolising prosperity, longer temple harams arranged at staggered lengths.
A final, elongated temple chain extended across the saree's pallu, elongating her frame and anchoring the silhouette.
Every surface showcased deep Nakshi engraving and Rava granulation - that fine, textured detailing that adds depth and softness to striking gold.
The finish was antique matte rather than high-shine, ensuring the pieces felt timeworn, as though they had lived through generations rather than been freshly unboxed for a wedding.
To frame her face, the designers created a 'temple-jewellery halo' using a traditional mathapatti and champasaralu (hairline chains), balanced by a delicate gold nose pin. From the upper-arm bajuband featuring goddess motifs to the intricate jada billa (braid ornaments) and the kamarbandh at her waist, every piece held its own.
Vijay Deverakonda: The sovereign king
Complementing Rashmika's divine energy, Vijay's jewellery was conceptualised as ceremonial armour for a monarch. Paired with his traditional Telugu groom ensemble by Anamika Khanna, his gold neckwear - starting with a sleek snake-chain base - was layered with heavy, embossed temple harams that visually echoed the detailing of the bridal set.
Reports suggest his temple necklaces alone could weigh between 1.2 and 2 kilograms, underscoring the sheer physicality of the pieces.
On his wrists, broad, handcuff-style kadas reinforced the sovereign theme and the sculpted arm guards added strength to the overall look. Architectural carvings inspired by temple gopurams softened the structure, grounding the grandeur in cultural nuance.
Even the smallest details were intentional. Both he and Rashmika sported a dishti chukka, the small black dot placed on the cheek to ward off the evil eye.
The valuation: kilos of gold, millions in legacy
While neither the couple nor SHREE Jewellers have confirmed official price tags, market estimates place the combined weight of the wedding jewellery at nearly three kilograms of gold. Valuation narratives suggest a total well over Rs70 million - with Rashmika's collection alone estimated at Rs50 million or more, and Vijay's at Rs20 million and above.
These figures remain as ballpark estimates rather than confirmed numbers. But even without a precise tag, the scale and authenticity of the beautifully crafted, timeless 'ViRosh' jewellery remain undeniable.
