KP Cabinet Clears Major Health, Infrastructure And Legal Reform Initiatives Across Province

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet, in its recent meeting, approved several key development and welfare projects across different districts of the province. The meeting endorsed multiple initiatives related to health, education, infrastructure, and legal reforms.

The cabinet approved the establishment of breast screening centers at five divisional headquarters, the transfer of land to the Health Department for the establishment of a nursing college in Upper Chitral, and an increase in the cost of the Women and Children Hospital project in Lakki Marwat.

Approval was also granted for the provision of land for a Ladies and Children Park on Kohat Road in Peshawar, and for the transfer of government land to expand the judicial complex in Hangu.

In the infrastructure sector, the cabinet approved the cost of land acquisition for the Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan Motorway.

It also endorsed a financial assistance package for 6,505 affected families in Khyber under the Tirah Model.

Additionally, the nomination of a private sector representative to the Private Power and Infrastructure Board was approved.

On the legislative front, the cabinet approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Vagrancy (Control and Rehabilitation) Bill 2025, amendments to the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act 2010, and the Wheat Procurement and Strategic Reserves Hybrid Policy 2026.

At the conclusion of the meeting, more than Rs 4.06 billion was approved to address staff shortages in health facilities and hospitals, Rs 196 million as a grant-in-aid for providing laptops to minority students, along with billions of rupees for other development projects.

These cabinet decisions are being described as a significant step toward development and the enhancement of public services in the province.
