Sybiha, Kallas Discuss Tougher Sanctions On Russia, Ukraine's Path To EU
"I had a very insightful meeting with Kaja Kallas focused on three key topics," Sybiha said.
In particular, the parties discussed peace efforts and how to speed them up with the engagement of the U.S. and the EU.
They also addressed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia, including a swift adoption of the strong 20th package, maritime services ban for Russia's shadow fleet, and an entry ban for participants of Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Another key issue, Sybiha said, was "Ukraine's EU membership as one of the key security guarantees for our country and the entire Europe." Sybiha said Ukraine was ready to complete all necessary work as soon as possible.

Earlier, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Sybiha emphasized that real progress in peace negotiations was possible only with clear, legally binding, and robust security guarantees for Ukraine. These must include support from the United States, elements of an international military presence, EU membership, a strong Ukrainian army, and tough sanctions pressure on Russia.
