Türkiye's BIST 100 Hits Record High


(MENAFN) Türkiye's principal stock index closed Thursday at 14,180.48 points, marking an increase of 2.85% day-on-day and reaching a historic peak.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index opened at 13,795.00 points and climbed by 392.66 points from Wednesday's finish.

During the session, the index's lowest point was 13,784.80, while it peaked at 14,196.85.

The overall market capitalization of BIST 100 hovered around 14 trillion Turkish liras ($322.3 billion), with trading turnover totaling 274.6 billion liras ($6.3 billion).

Out of the listed stocks, 93 advanced and five declined compared to the prior close.

Meanwhile, gold was priced at "$5,068.80 per ounce," and Brent crude oil exchanged hands at "$67.95 per barrel" as of 6.45 pm local time (1545GMT).

Currency rates saw the US dollar at 43.6470 liras, the euro at 51.9955 liras, and the British pound at 59.7575 liras.
