Qatar's General Tax Authority Alerts Public To Impersonation Scams

Doha, Qatar: The General Tax Authority (GTA) issued a statement drawing attention to the presence of fraudulent attempts“carried out via email, impersonating the Authority, and targeting individuals by deceiving them and directing them to suspicious links to request the entry of their information.”

The Authority confirmed that these messages are not legitimate, emphasising the importance of not replying to them, clicking on any attached links, opening them, or sharing any personal or tax-related information.

It added that, in case of any inquiry or doubt regarding any received message, for people to refer to the“Dhareeba” platform and verify the message's authenticity through the approved official channels.

The Authority urged everyone to remain cautious and vigilant, delete such messages immediately, and report them to the concerned authorities.
