Jordan To Host Yemen Prisoner Exchange Cmte Meeting


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) AMMAN, Jan 4 (KUNA) -- Amman is set to host a meeting for the Supervisory Committee on the Implementation of the Prisoner Exchange Agreement in Yemen under the aegis of the United Nations from February 5-19.
In a press statement on Wednesday, the Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Fouad Al-Majali underlined Jordan's support for the efforts of UN, Arab and international efforts aimed at achieving peace, security, and stability in Yemen, in a way that meets the Yemeni people's expectations.
The Yemeni government announced on December 23 that the country's rivals had agreed to free 2,900 prisoners during the 10th round of 12-day negotiations in Muscat. (end)
