Türkiye's Stock Exchange Opens Tuesday Higher


(MENAFN) Türkiye's primary equity benchmark launched Tuesday's trading session at 13,725.45 points, surging 0.77%—a gain of 104.5 points—from the prior day's closure.

The BIST 100 index had tumbled 1.57% during Monday's session, settling at 13,620.95 points. Daily trading activity reached 236.8 billion liras ($5.44 billion) in volume.

Currency markets showed the Turkish lira trading at 43.4960 against the US dollar as of 10.15 am local time (0715GMT). The euro commanded 51.4440 liras, while the British pound stood at 59.5990 liras.

Gold prices hit $4,884.4 per ounce in Tuesday's early trading. Meanwhile, Brent crude oil changed hands at $65.8 per barrel.
