- Postdoctoral Research Associate, School of Geographical & Earth Sciences, University of Glasgow
Adam Smith is a postdoctoral research associate in numerical modelling in the school of geographical and earth sciences. Adam's research interests focus on tectonic geomorphoplogy, and in particular the use of river networks and large topographic data sets to understand the processes influencing landscape evolution. His research integrates field obvservations and lab work to inform numerical modelling of erosional processes, particularly applied to river networks. He is particularly interetsed in determining how rivers incise mountain ranges, and has published on a number of ranges including the Sierra Nevada and Wasatch Ranges in the western US, the Siwalik Hills, the Olympic Mountains, the Pyrenees and the Himalayas.
