Dhurandhar's Out On Netflix, But Viewers Are Complaining About Its Video Quality

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Bollywood spy action thriller Dhurandhar, which minted nearly Rs 13 billion (Dh521 million approximately) at the global box office in under two months, made its streaming debut recently. But not everyone is happy.

A few others pointed out why such movies ought to be seen on the big screen, such as a superior sharpness of frames and scale of composition.

A lot others pointed out at the reduction in duration and the apparent changes in scenes on the streaming platform compared to the version running in theatres.

Some said that many dialogues were muted out, apart from cutting out nearly 10 minutes of footage from the original movie, suggesting that OTT platforms are supposed to back bold storytelling and not stymie them.

Dhurandhar also has a regional connect with FA9LA, a track by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi featuring at a crucial plot point. In an interview with Khaleej Times, the rapper said he never expected the song to get this popular.

"I never imagined that the audience in India would feel my music this much, especially given that it's in Arabic," he said. "It goes to show that music is a universal language, and language isn't necessarily a barrier."

The hype over the movie is real. Dhurandhar has an IMDB rating of 8.4 and is the top trending movie in Netflix India. It is released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.

Helmed by Aditya Dhar, who made his directorial debut with Uri: The Surgical Strike in 2019, Dhurandhar rewrote box office records in India by surpassing the box office collections of Pushpa 2: The Rule to become the highest-grossing Hindi film.

The movie stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, with Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and R Madhavan in pivotal roles.

The movie's second instalment will release in theatres on March 19, 2026, which was revealed in the end credits of the first part.

Dhurandhar was produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, with its music composed by Shashwat Sachdev.
