Türkiye's BIST 100 Index Closes Wednesday Up
(MENAFN) Türkiye's premier equity benchmark shattered previous records Wednesday, surging to an unprecedented peak of 13,407.44 points in a 2.29% rally that electrified investors.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index launched the session at 13,150.12 points before accumulating 300.45 points throughout trading hours compared to Tuesday's closure.
The benchmark oscillated between a session floor of 13,144.15 and a zenith of 13,512.42 during volatile midweek activity.
Total market capitalization for the BIST 100 reached approximately 13.24 trillion Turkish liras ($305.8 billion), while daily transaction volume hit 240.8 billion Turkish liras ($5.54 billion).
Market breadth favored bulls decisively, with 70 index constituents advancing while 28 declined relative to the prior session's finish.
Commodity and currency markets showed mixed signals as of 6.20 pm local time (1520GMT). Gold traded at $5,265.35 per ounce, while Brent crude petroleum commanded roughly $66.95 per barrel.
Foreign exchange rates revealed the US dollar purchasing 43.4140 liras, with the euro exchanging at 51.8620 liras and the British pound valued at 59.7890 liras in Istanbul markets.
