Dubai Opens 29 New Mosques In 2025 With Capacity For Up To 24,000 Worshippers

Dubai's Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department inaugurated 29 new mosques across the emirate in 2025, built at a total cost of Dh250 million and with the capacity to accommodate up to 24,000 worshippers.

According to a statement shared by the Dubai Media Office, the mosques are distributed across 28 areas of Dubai, reflecting ongoing efforts to expand religious infrastructure in line with the emirate's growing population.

Alongside the newly opened mosques, the department has allocated 56 plots of land for the construction of additional mosques across 37 areas of Dubai during the year.

Construction is also underway on 53 mosques across 36 areas, with a total investment of Dh480 million. Once completed, these mosques are expected to accommodate up to 32,000 worshippers.

How to reserve parking at Dubai mosques

As the number of mosques across Dubai continues to grow - and with thousands more worshippers expected to use them each week - managing access around these spaces has become just as important as expanding capacity.

Dubai can get especially busy during peak prayer times, particularly on Fridays, when mosques fill quickly and parking areas come under pressure. Finding a spot can be challenging for worshippers arriving to pray, making parking management an essential part of ensuring smooth access to mosques.

To address this, imams and muezzins in the emirate are eligible to apply for reserved parking spaces at mosques, helping ensure uninterrupted access during prayer times.

As mosque attendance increases, parking management around prayer sites has also evolved to keep pace with demand.

In August 2025, new M and MP parking signs were installed across mosques in Dubai as part of the rollout of Parkin's managed parking system. Under the updated system, more than 2,100 parking spaces across 59 mosques are subjected to paid parking.
