Turkey’s stock index hits record on Friday


(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index, BIST 100, started trading on Friday at a record level, reaching 12,924.20 points—an increase of 0.57%, or 72.70 points, compared to the previous day’s close.

On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 had climbed 0.97%, ending the session at 12,851.49 points, with total daily trading volume reaching 219.8 billion liras ($5.07 billion).

As of 09:50 a.m. local time (06:50 GMT), currency rates were reported at 43.3670 liras per US dollar, 50.9625 liras per euro, and 58.5560 liras per British pound.

Meanwhile, the price of gold per ounce was $4,952.15, and Brent crude oil was trading at $64 per barrel.
