Amprion issues green bonds in a volume of 2.6 billion euros
Transmission system operator Amprion GmbH ('Amprion') has issued green bonds totalling 2.6 billion euros at the beginning of the year 2026. The issuance of green bonds is an essential part of the Amprion's financing strategy for funding its project portfolio and implementing the energy transition in Germany.
The bonds have been issued in three tranches and will be listed on the Euro MTF market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange:

The first tranche in a volume of 700 million euros and maturing in 5 years carries an interest coupon of 3.162% p.a.
The second tranche in a volume of 1.0 billion euros, and maturing in 12 years carries an interest coupon of 4.072% p.a.
The third tranche in a volume of 900 million euros and maturing in 20 years carries an interest coupon of 4.580% p.a.

The transaction has been arranged under Amprion's €25 billion debt issuance program, supported by considerably positive interest and demand from debt investors.
Amprion expects these bonds to receive a“Baa1” rating from Moody's and an“A-” rating from Fitch.
“We are delighted with this successful start in 2026. For the first time, we have issued such a high volume across three maturities in a single transaction,” says Peter Rüth, CFO of Amprion.“The positive response underscores investors' confidence in Amprion's corporate strategy and sustainable business model. The proceeds from these issues will be used exclusively for the expansion and upgrade of our transmission grid. As part of our ambitious investment programme, we will continue to be active on the capital market on a regular basis,” adds Peter Rüth.
The issuance was arranged under participation of the following banks: Bayerische Landesbank, Commerzbank AG, DZ BANK AG, ING, Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, SEB and UniCredit.
