Primary school in Lancashire stays closed due to water problems

(MENAFN) A primary school in Lancashire remains closed to pupils for a second day because of problems with its water supply.

St John’s Stonefold Church of England Primary School in Accrington shut on Monday after a mains water pipe burst on the school field, leaving the school without running water.

Earlier on Monday, several schools, libraries, and waste disposal sites in the area were also closed due to heavy snow and icy conditions.

Five other schools in the county that had been closed have now reopened, according to local authorities.

The Met Office issued a yellow severe weather warning for ice from Tuesday evening until 10:00 GMT on Wednesday.
