31 Ticketless Passengers Caught During Surprise Check On Vande Bharat Train
Strict action was taken against all these unauthorized passengers under the Railways Act, 1989. A total fine of approximately Rs. 80,000 was recovered from these passengers.
ADVERTISEMENTRegarding this surprise ticket checking drive, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, stated,“The railways encourage passengers to travel with valid tickets, especially on premium trains, as the penalties for ticketless travel on premium trains like Vande Bharat are higher compared to regular trains. Ticketless travel not only causes revenue loss to the railways but also infringes upon the rights of passengers with valid tickets.”
