Ios 26.2 Update: New Iphone Lock Screen Customisation Features Explained

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)

Apple's iOS 26.2 update continues to refine how users can personalise their iPhones, with a particular focus on visual customisation. While the update doesn't radically change how iOS works, it introduces subtle but meaningful improvements, especially for users who care about how their Lock Screen looks and feels.

Here's a closer look at what's new in iOS 26.2, and how you can make the most of it.

The iPhone Lock Screen has become one of the most customisable parts of iOS in recent years, and iOS 26 pushed that even further with Apple's Liquid Glass design language for the clock.

With iOS 26.2, Apple has quietly expanded one of those options, giving users more control over how transparent or opaque the Lock Screen clock appears.

Expanded Liquid Glass opacity slider

In iOS 26, users could already switch the Lock Screen clock to a Glass style, which applies a translucent, frosted-glass effect inspired by Apple's broader Liquid Glass aesthetic. However, the opacity controls were relatively limited.

The iOS 26.2 update expands the opacity slider, allowing:

  • Greater transparency for a lighter, more minimal look

  • Higher opacity for improved contrast and readability

This makes it easier to fine-tune the clock so it blends perfectly with your wallpaper, whether you're using a busy photo background or a clean gradient design.

To access the new slider:

  • Long-press on your Lock Screen

  • Tap Customize

  • Select the Lock Screen clock

  • Make sure the style is set to Glass, not Solid

  • Adjust the expanded opacity slider to your preference

At its most extreme setting, the clock can now appear almost fully transparent, something that wasn't possible in earlier versions.

Works with all fonts, with one limitation

One advantage of the updated opacity slider is that it works across all Lock Screen clock fonts. Whether you're using a bold typeface or a more minimalist style, you can now adjust transparency more precisely than before.

However, there's still a limitation Apple hasn't addressed. The ability to resize the Lock Screen clock remains exclusive to the default font. If you switch to a custom font, you can tweak opacity, but not size.
